For the Rally sport we build complete custom wheels. These wheels are specifically designed for long distance races like the Dakar Rally and used by teams like Cyrille Despres and Frans Verhoeven from team Yamaha, team Speedbrain and team GHR Honda from Australia.
Rally front wheels are made in both 21×1.60 inch and 21×1.85 inch sizes. The rear wheels have machined cush drive hubs to absorb the strains and impacts put on the transmission on rough terrain and/or high speed. Rally rear rim size is the commonly used 18-2.50 inch. Perfect for mounting wide rally tires. They come complete with reinforced spokes and hubs machined from billet 6082 T6 grade alloy on CNC machines. Our wheels have been used by motocross teams all over the world and can be anodised in a range of colours.
Tube or tubeless
Haan Wheels are the strongest wheels available, which automatically means they are all tube type rims. Bluntly put a tubeless rim is not strong enough. Tubeless rims with the spokes on the outside, makes for a very wide rim which easily damages, while using o-ring sealed nipples requires clearance between rim and nipple for the o-rings, which makes for a weak rim (not to mention 40 o-rings which all have to seal properly in a flexing rim).
Having been around the world ourselves we know all too well that when a tubeless tyre gets a puncture in off-road conditions, a bung is most of the time not going to do it. You have in fact a better chance with a spray-can type sealer in a tube (which won’t make a mess of your rim as they are inside the tube). That’s why a lot of prepared riders with tubeless tyres still have a spare tube with them. Better still have one fitted from the start and you can simply swap the tube and fix the other one when convenient.
