Extremely strong, well designed and easy to use construction. No locks to clog up with mud or dust, no vulnerable and rattling spring clips which allow anyone access to your tools. Big enough to carry tools, spare oil filter, tyre levers and an aluminium 1 litre oil bottle. Drain holes on both sides, both access doors come with a rubber seal. Fitment for brake and/or gear lever safety wire.
Why no locks?
We wanted a strong and easy to use construction. A toolbox which you can access no matter where you are and where you've been riding. Even the best locks can't handle bull dust, water, mud, salt etc. Especially when just behind the front wheel and being in the full spray of it. They rattle and make the construction weaker. Yet we all want a toolbox that is safe from thieving fingers… Spring clips are thus not an option, apart from allowing dust and water in they also give everyone access to your tools. That's why we use stainless steel Torx bolts in a solid block of aircraft grade aluminium. They never clog up, aren't affected by dust, water or salt and ensure you have access to your tools.
Engine service without removing the skidplate!
With the skid/bash plate in place you'll have full access to the drain plug and oil filter. No need to remove it, which makes an oil change much easier when out on the road (or better still off the road).
All bolted construction
The skid/bash plate is fitted with 6 bolts and two solid clamps to the frame of the bike. Easy to fit and strong to handle both impact and extra weight of tools and oil. The toolbox is bolted to the skid/bash plate using 10 stainless bolts. As the lids are bolted too, the construction is very strong. Welding the toolbox to the skid/bash plate would have been easier for us but, like all our products, we design them to be repairable in the field, which a welded construction doesn't allow for. Plus, if it's seriously damaged you can replace just the toolbox part rather than the complete skid/plate - toolbox combo. Comes fully pre-assembled. Fits to the bike in 5 minutes.
